Terms of use

Last updated September 12, 2026

These terms govern your access to and use of projects and services provided by Afterglow, including websites, applications, bots, integrations, and other digital products we make available. By using a service, you agree to these terms.

Using our services

You may use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with any instructions, limits, or platform rules that apply to them. Where applicable, you are responsible for activity performed through your account or credentials and for maintaining their security.

You may not misuse a service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, evade usage limits, introduce harmful code, harass others, infringe their rights, or use a service to create or distribute unlawful or deceptive material.

Your content and permissions

You retain ownership of content you submit through a service. You give Afterglow a limited permission to receive, process, store, and transmit that content only as needed to provide requested features and to operate, secure, and maintain the service.

We do not use your content to train general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning models unless additional terms for a service clearly tell you otherwise before you submit the content.

You are responsible for the content you submit and must have the rights needed to submit it. We may remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, enforce these terms, or preserve a service's security and operation.

Our work

Afterglow and its licensors own the services, software, visual design, documentation, and other original material we provide, excluding your content. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use a service as intended; they do not transfer ownership or permit you to copy, resell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit it except where law expressly allows.

Platforms and third parties

Some services depend on or interact with third-party platforms, hosting providers, APIs, or websites. Your use of those products may also be governed by their terms. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party products, content, availability, or privacy practices.

Availability and changes

Services are provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Features may change, become limited, or be discontinued, and a service may occasionally be unavailable. Any mandatory statutory rights and warranties remain unaffected.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you violate these terms, a third-party platform requires it, or doing so is reasonably necessary to protect a service, its users, or others. We may also discontinue a service at any time. Where practical, we will provide notice, but we may act immediately when required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent harm, misuse, or security risks.

When access ends, your right to use the affected service ends. Terms that by their nature should continue to apply, including those concerning ownership and liability, remain in effect.

Liability

Afterglow remains liable without limitation where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, fraudulently concealed defects, guarantees we expressly provide, and liability under applicable product liability law.

For loss caused by slight negligence, Afterglow is liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation and only for loss that was foreseeable and typical when the service was used. Mandatory consumer rights and any other liability that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.

Additional service terms

Individual services may have additional terms covering matters such as eligibility, payments, refunds, usage or API limits, platform-specific rules, or other features. We will make those terms available with the relevant service. If additional terms conflict with these terms, the additional terms control only for that service and only to the extent of the conflict.

Contributions

Voluntary contributions support Afterglow's work and do not purchase goods, services, ownership, or influence over a project. Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms. If you made a contribution in error, contact hello@afterglow.sh; any mandatory refund rights remain unaffected.

Updates to these terms

We may revise these terms as our projects and practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the affected service or another appropriate channel where practical. Continued use after the updated terms take effect means they apply to your use.
